This bowl is thrown from grolleg porcelain, dipped in a transparent clear glaze, then fired in a reduction atmosphere that brings warmth and depth to the surface. The porcelain body fires to a soft, luminous ivory. At the rim, the iron oxide stain bleeds through the glaze at high heat and the kiln atmosphere creates a warm halo where the glaze breaks, recording the path of flame and reduction during the firing.
The faceted pedestal foot lifts the bowl off the table, giving the form a quiet architectural clarity while also making it comfortable to handle. The wide, open profile is suited to soups, grains, salads, or composed dishes, but the piece also holds its own as a sculptural object when not in use. Like all reduction-fired porcelain, its surface is meant to be lived with.
